Built for fifteen years, not the showroom
The bearings are sealed. The motor is a 24 V brushless. The housing is high-impact ABS that will not yellow under sunlight. The pieces inside the unit are the ones that fail in a household over fifteen years — and they are the ones we picked first.
You will not find proprietary cartridges, locked accessories, or feature-gated firmware. The unit works the same on day 4,800 as it does on day one.

Use any clumping litter — clay, tofu, pine, walnut, crystal. Avoid non-clumping or silica beads that do not bind into clumps. Any 13-gallon drawstring trash bag will fit the drawer. No proprietary parts, no subscription, ever.

How big is this unit and where does it fit?
58 cm wide, 66 cm deep, 75 cm tall. About the size of a small side cabinet. The drawer pulls forward, not up — so you do not need clearance above the unit.
Does it really work with any clumping litter?
Yes. Clay, tofu, pine, walnut, crystal — anything that clumps. We do not sell a proprietary one and we never will.
How loud is it?
24 dB at one meter. About the volume of a refrigerator humming in the next room. You will not hear it from the bedroom.
How long is the warranty really?
4 years on every BeCat. Parts and labor. No exceptions. No upsell on the warranty. The phone number is on the homepage.
What if my cat will not use it?
Keep the old box running alongside for two to three weeks during transition. The refusal rate drops below 2%. If the cat still will not use it after 90 days, prepaid return label, full refund.
Is it HSA / FSA eligible?
Often yes, with a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor. We send the template free once you order.
What about kittens or very small cats?
The safety sensors register reliably from 3.5 kg. Below that, we recommend a standard box until the kitten reaches weight.

Can I use it without the app?

Yes. The unit works fully without an account, login, or internet connection. The app is opt-in and exists because owners asked for it.

How much electricity does it draw?

Roughly 8 kWh per year for a typical two-cat household. About $1 per year on a US electricity rate. The motor only runs during the cycle, which is about 4 minutes per use.

Does the drawer really fit a regular trash bag?

Yes. Any 13-gallon drawstring trash bag fits. The kind you already use for the kitchen. We do not sell a proprietary cartridge and we never will.

What happens if the power goes out?

The unit pauses safely. When power returns, it resumes from its last state. Litter inside the drum stays clean. The safety sensors retain calibration.

Can I move it between rooms without recalibrating?

Yes. Move it to the new spot, plug it in. The sensors recalibrate on the next cycle. You do not need to reset anything in the app.
